Eddies Moving Reports & Reviews (21)

I initially received same email first from a person from what I thought was my sons teachers group. I texted number back & then received an email from “delivery guys” asking for money for piano delivery.

I thought it was legit because it said it was from “KG Rhodes homeroom group”. I was just about to send money until payment was to an odd recipient’s name…I thought them asking via apps and gift cards was odd too!

I googled the email address and found other people were sent same thing and actually lost their money thinking it was legit.

Ive been texting number just to see what else they are saying. I asked to pick up and they said warehouse is in GA (I live in FL) and gave me address to “check it out”.

Im glad I saw this post in time! Sorry to those that lost money to these cons! Hope they get caught some way or another.

An email was sent to school employees from a "teacher". She said to text the phone number for her, which is the same number I see here. This is truly sick.

A friend received an email sent to a local school district regarding a 2014 Yamaha baby grand piano that the originator did not want to move. The piano was free, just had to contact the mover to get it moved. Upon emailing the mover, the mover's representative, Ryan, sent an email with 3 options for delivery and cost starting at $450. He provided the website. I had to press to get access to the piano. However, being in a state far removed from Florida, he would not send pictures and verification of actual product was not possible.

Their website is a free site at wix - a web page design service. All the pictures on the site are stock photos. None of the trucks in the picture have logos on them.

I checked with the ScamPulse.com and uncovered a very similar story occurred last year about this time with same representative name and the same piano. Upon seeing that I discontinued contact.

I didn't pay them but I read their scam post so I was wary. The movers says the piano is in Florida but when I texted the person giving away the piano they said it was in Georgia. The scam was so obvious, luckily I didn't pay them.

Almost got scammed. Once I heard that they wanted the payment through cash app or Zelle, I felt like I should investigate further. Thank you for posting this. I almost sent the three hundred dollars. It was sent to me by a friend because she knew I loved pianos. The lady, Elizabeth Bag-well, was leaving the state and left the Piano with Eddies movers. Please be careful.

Please be aware of this scam that is out there.

Dr. Gennsis Moreira is giving away her late husband's 2014 Yamaha Grand Piano. Widow's number is 9172836456. Rodney Dale was the agent from Eddie's Moving company. Email address is [email protected]

Accepted forms of payment--Zelle, CashApp and American Express Gold card. Played the game with them and elicited the following:

Kindly make payment for the shipment of your piano to the information below to enable delivery commence.

Payment Mode: ZELLE
Zelle ID : [email protected]

N:B; Kindly send a payment confirmation immediately payment has been made so we can issue a receipt and tracking number immediately.

Name of the recipient is Sheldon Barbash.

The more of these names that we get and report to the police, the more likelihood they can eventually catch these scammers and shame them wherever they are calling or emailing from.

Just had the same experience yesterday. Was contacted by Carie Grey about a grand piano. Here is the story: it belonged to her son who recently passed away and she needs to downsize. Her cell number is (786) 386-4380. Rodney Dale was listed as the person I should contact at Eddie's Moving, which is permanently closed, according to their website. I also received an email from Bruce Lechy Preston. Please be aware that this is a scam.

Received an email yesterday and another as I was looking them up on this site today. Very tempting to contact but the imperfect grammar had me questioning it.

Same as above. Received email through my work email, same as above about a 2014 Yamaha baby grand. Unfortunately, I wasn’t so lucky and sent $300 for shipping. It wasn’t until I stopped receiving responses to my messages that I begin to investigate because once again it came from a “colleague”. Now I can’t find the email, can’t report it to my bank because it’s a holiday weekend. And I’m out of $300.

Were you able to get back the money? How? It happened to me, too. Thanks

Similar story. “Music Faculty” member emailed music students saying another music professor who was leaving is giving away her Yamaha 2014 baby grand. Then gave the number to contact said professor and that professor sent me to eddies movers. They said the piano is in Georgia. Glad i didn’t give them any info.

This post helped me not get scammed by these people. Same similar story. Widow's late husband died and left a Steinway piano to give away. It's with the shipping company Eddies Movers https://eddiesmoving.com, and this company asked to Zelle payments. Dead giveaway that's it's a scam. Rodney Dales was contact. The fake widow's phone number is 571 833 9090. Be careful.

Yea Rodney Dale was my contact too. He gave this number after I requested it.

Unfortunately, I had a similar experience using [email protected] and this number +1 (916) 891-6739.
All the same details: the piano was her late father’s, she was moving to a smaller place and the Yamaha piano was with Eddie’s movers. They sent me this info:

“My name is Ryan Zitner, and I’ll be your on-boarding assistant throughout your shipping process for the PIANO Reference Number DOC07375104288.”

They sent me over 40 emails correspondences, and because my bank was cautious, they kept sending different names and accounts to “try” and I naively listened. Finally after 3 emails in a few hours, I realized this could not be a legitimate business. These are the names and accounts they sent.

Supervisor's details Mr Frank Donald (949) 755-6139.

- Florence, AL, USA

I work at a church as Music Pastor. My pastor received an email about an individual wanting to give a piano to someone. He forwarded me the email and I contacted the person about the piano. I asked for a picture of the piano and decided I would like it. He said that I needed to contact the moving company because he was moving and it would need to be redirected to my address. I called the moving company and they said I would receive an email about what I needed to do next. I received the email and it was asking for payment for the moving expense. They would only accept the following forms of payment: Cash Deposit, ZELLE, and Bitcoin. I realized that I was not dealing with an individual trying to get rid of his deceased father's piano.

Here is the second email they sent:

Hello Ryan

Sorry for the late response. I'm so busy trying to get settled. The Yamaha Baby Grand used to be owned and played by my Father who is now deceased .It was last tuned February this year before he passed on. I'm moving to a Smaller Apartment I don't think my Father will be happy if I sold this piano, at the same time I'm settling to a home of lesser space, so I'm hoping to give it out to someone who is a passionate lover of the instrument. I wasn't going to leave it alone in an empty house.

It's currently in transit with the movers I employed to move my properties from my house. If you really don't mind making new arrangements with the movers, I can attempt to get in touch with them to reroute it. This should not attract too much charges for you since the distance can be recovered within a day. I'm sorry for the inconvenience, but do let me know if you wish that I talk to the movers. Just so you know, I am not giving out a scrap or a waste. It’s in good shape. I will also send pictures of it before it was packed,Please text me directly on 570-257-2244
