Received an invoice dated 12/5/2024 with an order ID# and list of items "purchased" by our ASC. Nitrile Gloves and pleated face masks- which are items that we do order every week (but from a well know vendor). I questioned my materials management employee to see if he had placed an order with an odd vendor due to supply shortage. He claimed he did not. I called the number on the invoice and the voice message stated that they were closed. I then did a Google search for the company name and the 1st hit that came up was "scam alert". Crazy how they knew to send an invoice for items that we do order and coincidentally on the appropriate day that we do our weekly orders. These scam companies hope that they get the accounts payable person that doesn't question the invoice because it is for the appropriate supplies.
