A golf cart was listed on Facebook Marketplace. I ask if it was available from seller listed. He messenged me back and said it was for his Aunt, her email was [email protected]. When I contacted her, she said I would need to call eBay as they were selling Golf Cart for her. She gave me the number (551)-333-9317. I called he spoke and sent an email containing invoice for the Golf Cart and that it could only be paid via ebay/apple gift cards. There was also included a shipping charge. The total amount due was $2,000.00. When i had paid this I received an email verification that the item was shipped. The next day, I received an email stating the item was being detained by Border authorities fir customs tax of additional $1,000.00. When I emailed him that I needed to cancel the transaction since I did not have the money to pay more. As stated in the emails he had sent the payments were in a trust held until transaction was completed on arrival of item, along with a 5 day inspection period to return the Golf Cart. I need the funds returned in Cashier’s Check to the address given for delivery. Ad soon as possible. I got no reply. I called the 551-333-9317 number again, when he answered I stated the situation and asked for a complete return as stated in his emails. He disconnected the call. When I called again the phone played a recording of “this phone is no longer in service” however the phone kept ringing, the recording played again but continued to ring. Finally there was a loud disconnect. My husband then called from his phone and the man answered EBay Motors Department, how can I help you? My husband mentioned the golf cart and refund the man quickly hung up. We are unable to reach the number now.

I have contacted EBay Motor Department and spoke with a representative that verified the item number was not in there system and they then directed me to contact Apple to see if cards could be marked fraudulent. When I spoke with Apple they showed that cards had been used to buy Debit Cards. They then suggested contact BetterBusinessBureau of New Jersey.
