So I was contacted via facebook about a Data Entry job, I was then referred to “one of the chief human resources managers,” Katherine. After being briefed about the job via text i had an interview also via text and was offered the job. I sent them a picture of the front of my ID so they could put my information in their workers database. After that they told me they were going to send a check close to $2,000 to me via email so I could buy software to start working for them. I was instructed to print and cut the check and mobile deposit it into my bank and send proof i did all of it. I also had to send a video of myself vowing to be an honest, loyal, hardworking employee and to do as instructed with the money. I followed the instructions and they told me to be ready at 8 am the following day. As i went to bed i started questioning all of what happened and contacted my bank who informed me that the check had been placed on a hold because of red flags and was warned not to touch the money and that the company was a scam. Well after almost 24 hours of me ignoring “Katherine” because I was aware I was being scammed I was then harassed and they continuously called me a thief, and threatened they have my information, and recordings of the conversation (as do I) and that they have contacted the local authorities and their company feds would be after me in the morning oh and I forgot to mention. At first when the interview was going on the person texted very well grammatically and in english but the last 24 hours it seems like I’m speaking to someone not in the country.
