I received a letter and a check in the mail. The check is for fifty-five hundred ninety dollars ($5,590.00). The letter states this check is to pay the taxes on one million two hundred thousand dollars ($1.2M). Implicit tax due immediately fifty-five hundred dollars ($5,500.00). The final award due to me after tax one million one hundred ninety-four thousand five hundred dollars ($1,194,500.00). It states that this is a sweepstakes prize that I won in the first category with a winning serial number ticket. The check is drawn on the Bank of America.
