On 3/10/23, I was searching for companies that buy back prepaid cards and gift cards when I came across Climax Cardings Corporation LTD. Clicking the contact phone number took me to Whatsapp where I connected with someone there about cashing out a hotels.com gift card with face value $100.00. The contact agreed to take the card and credit my PayPal account $89.72 and asked me to scan the back of the gift card and send it to him, after doing so, he said it was not readable so I needed to open the gift card up and scan the inside for him. I did. This allowed him to get the card number and the pin. After some time of not seeing the agreed upon funds in my PayPal account, I contacted him again to find out what's going on. He said there was a problem and the transaction did not go through. When I checked the balance with hotels.com, both online and on phone, I only had $0.15 left on the card. I w[censored]d out. When I informed Climax Cardings about the money taken from the gift card, he said it was not them and gave no further explanation except to later say that they sometimes get hackers hacking transactions after I asked and told him he asked me to scan both the back of the card as well as the inside. Anyway, the company made no attempt to investigate or refund any money to me. Neither has hotels.com done a thing since I complained to then. I still have not yet heard from the FTC regarding this complaint. I am out $100.00 of a gift card. Please investigate this scammer. Th
