picked up telephone and met with silence. Caller then speaks and asks "can you hear me now" followed by a pitch for travel awards. I hung up the telephone 5 seconds into the call after answering yes to the callers question can you hear me now.

A phone number that I believed to be my place of employment called our land line. He identified his self as Timothy and asked me a question. It was not "can you hear me" so without thinking I answered "yes." I then quickly realized that this call was not from my place of employment and hung up the phone. I immediately reported this call to the FCC, the BBB, and verizon fios customer service.

They started with a long pause then appologize about the lag, blaming it on interference. They then asked if I could hear them. Without thinking I said yes. Again there was a pause and then they mentioned advertising for cronic pain.

This is regarding the "yes" phone scam.

On July 21st at 12:30 p.m. I received a phone call from the number 410-204-9385. What sounded like a younger girl was able to trick me into saying "yes." After saying hello, she then said my name, Nicholas. I said yes because she sounded different and more real than the usual "can you hear me" that I've gotten before, and I was also expecting a call from someone. After I said yes I quickly realized what was going on and said "no, no who is this." She proceeded to say something like "thanks, ill go ahead and process this." She then hung up. I called the number back but the line was of course not active.

Call asked if I could hear OK, and stupidly I answered "yes". As soon as I did it I thought about what I had done. I had heard about this scam where all the "caller" wanted was to record the person who answered saying "yes" and then to use that recorded response to make charges against accounts owned by the person who answered. I don't know yet if this will actually lead to a problem with my credit cards, bank, utilities, or anything else but am concerned about the possibilities.

caller asks you if you recently applied online for employment. You have to answer yes or no. If you say yes they hang up on you. When I called the number back it gives option 1 to be placed on a do not call registry, or option 2 to get more information on how to contact them. When you press 2, you are given an email, and hung up on.

This person called and I answered. They kept saying hello, and said can you hear me darling? I said yes, not thinking and realized what was happening. I asked Who? (Meaning who is this) and they said ugh I'll try back.

I called back and they said uh it was a wrong number.

Scammer asks, Can you hear me? Person answering the phone says yes. The scammer uses your recorded voice "yes" to make purchases or says you have agreed to purchase something. With your recorded voice, you are liable. We were warned about this on our local news a few months ago.

Picked up the phone and said, "hello?". After some fumbling around, female scammer then said, "Can you here me?". My mother, who is older, said "Yes, yes, I can hear you". The female then began to tell my mother that she won something. I then took the phone and asked to be taken off their list. The female then said, "I can see that you no longer want calls from us, and I will add you to our do not call list". We then hung up.

I received a call from 716-203-1180 I said hello twice, then I heard a beep and the person on the other end said "Can you hear me now?"

I did not answer her, I just hung up.

Multiply numbers, but all start with 808. I've had calls from ending numbers of 1969, 1975, 1987, 1993, 1978, 1982, 1960, 1971, 1954, 1985. There is a person who says something like : "Hi, this is Joe. I'm calling regarding one of your accounts. This is a record line. Can you hear me ok?" They will sometimes call two times in a row. I've picked up a few times, and it's the same script the person uses, so I reply with "excuse me" and "where are you calling from" and then they hang up.

Answered the phone and they asked can you hear me. Mistakenly said yes. Wanted to tell me I had won Walmart gift cards. Told them I wasn't interested and hung up.

Call came in from an area code that I do business in and was in the middle of several things so when they asked "Can you hear me?" I automatically responded with "YES" without thought, then seconds later I realized what I did and cursed, then hung up.

Not sure what to look for now as to what it may impact.

Received a call from a recording and was asked if I could hear them. I replied "yeah" then realized it was a recording and immediately hung up. It was from a town that I have family in so I thought I was a family member initially.

Today 05-03-17 I received a call at my place of employment. they asked for me by name so the secretary transferred the call to my extension. When I answered with my name and if I could help them, they asked "Is this *** ***?" As soon as I said yes it is they immediately hung up. I attempted to dial the number back and I received a recording stating it was not a working number. A co-worker of mine looked the number up on a phone APP and the number showed to be listed to James Fleischman in Lancaster New York. The number is 716-685-2720
