My business received a letter stating the Michigan Annual Business Tax has not been paid and if not paid immediately the business may be administratively dissolved or revoked. The letter gave a QR code to scan or a website, Busfile.org/MI2025 to pay the statement. The letter looks very official and even gives a disclaimer at the bottom about being a third party filing company and not affiliated with any government office or agency.

We received a bogus letter from busfile.org that said our Michigan LLC's Annual Statement is PAST DUE. We confirmed with Michigan that our filing is in good order. There was a QR code that we did not click after a quick google search and trustpilot search showed this to be a scam. This was a waste of our time and a deceptive marketing practice that should be investigated/prosecuted.

Received a letter from the US postal service titled: Michigan Annual Statement PAST DUE Feb 15, 2025. The letter claims my LLC (filed in MI) has an annual statement past due and that the license may be revoked. It included a QR code (I did not scan) and a non-governmental website, which prompted my suspicion.

Received a 'Notice' about Michigan Annual State is past due. The notice tries to scare business owners that they missed their annual filing with the state of Michigan. The letter tries to look like it is from the state of Michigan but it is not and should not be considered official notice of anything past due.

Letter received for "MICHIGAN ANNUAL STATEMENT" claiming that I need to scan the barcode to file the 2025 annual statement thru Busfile.org/MI2025. Form looks professional and legit although definitely not affiliated with the actual State of MI itself.

I received a letter in the mail telling me my company "may be administratively dissolved or revoked if the 2025 Annual Report is not filed on time."

The top said in Bold Print....WISCONSIN ANNUAL REPORT Deadline: June 30, 2025

I remember filing this report previously. I went to the website to file and at the end they wanted $200. That threw up a red flag. I googled filing this report and found it on a wi.gov website, where it cost me $26!

I received a letter in the mail saying my annual certificate was due to be filed and that my company may be admininstrativley dissolved or revoked if the 2025 Annual Certificate is not filedby a specific date. The letter contained a QR code.

This looked like a scam so I investigated and it revealed to be a scam.

Piece of mail titled North Carolina annual report passed to April 15th 2025 sent to my business entity. I had recently filed the annual report but it was late but I thought okay. Maybe it's slow mail cuz mail is super slow right now and then my phone didn't want to scan the QR code. It said to scan the file. I was just going to double check it so that led me to Google

Letter to my LLC stating "It is time to pay the 2025 Annual Registration Fees for....."

....LLC may be administratively dissolved or revoked if the 2025 Annual Registration Fees are not paid by July 31, 2025.

Had a QR code to scan to file (I did not scan) The interesting piece that made me question is I paid for 2 years in July 2024 and there is no mention of the SCC.

I received a letter by Business Filing saying that my Virginia Annual Registration Fee is late and my company will dissolve if fee is not paid by 7/31/2025. I goggled and realized the fee is real so I paid. Turns out this is a scam website. I called by credit card company to try to cancel the charge but was told they can not do anything until the charge posts.

I Recieved a letter in the mail addressed to my business stating that I had to pay business registration fees by 7/31/2025 or my business could be dissolved. There was a QR code to scan and it gave a website Busfile.org/VA2025

The scammer use my business' SCC number on official looking direct mail. They had a QR code, which I did not use, and a website, which I did not go to. I had a feeling there might be viruses because something told me this was a polished-scam. They do have a professional looking logo called “Business Filing,” however, no address, no phone number, etc..

Folks, please don’t scan QR codes or go to websites if you’re not sure they are real entities. This is one time it’s OK to be paranoid!
