On November 1, 2024 I received 2 packages purportedly from Amazon, addressed to me by first name only (but correct address). I had not ordered the merchandise and contacted Amazon. The same thing has happened twice more - 11/4 and 11/6, each time with no return address on the shipping box and a different return address each time on the slip inside the boxes (11/1 from Wilmington DE ; 11/4 from Garner NC and 11/6 from the Charlotte address above). No sender name, phone number or email address are listed. Each time I contacted Amazon, but after hours on live chat I've had no explanation or answers to my questions - the agents are nice but I keep getting bounced around from one to another, all asking for the information I already gave, and no one who was supposed to look into it has gotten back to me. I'm very careful with my online security, but with so many companies not being careful enough, some of my information was obviously leaked by some organization, and the company has not explained how they will stop this. I'm not well and can't keep wasting my time with them..I haven't the energy. I called our local police, who knew nothing about brushing scams. I filed with the FTC, but that report is simply for informational purposes. I don't know what to do, and I don't need the stress, which makes my illness worse.

I RECIEVED A PACKAGE FOR AN ITEM I HAD NOT ORDERED. I LOOKED ON-LINE AND FOUND THE ADDRESS LISTED AS A WAREHOUSE THAT WAS FOR SALE. I ALSO FOUND AN ITEM WHERE ANOTHER PERSON FROM ANOTHER STATE HAD A SIMILAR EXPERIENCE. THAT PERSON REPORTED THE PROBLEM TO THEIR BBB, SO I DECIDED THAT I SHOULD REPORT MY PROBLEM TO THE NC BBB. I AM RETURNING THE ITEM AND REPORTING TO MY LOCAL POST OFFICE TO INVESTIGATE AS WELL.

Read about a Brushing Scam where people are sending you items in the mail and using your information on the back end to influence reviews and other outlets pertaining to their store/items.

I received a package in the mail that I didn’t order nor did anyone in my household. It was just a T-Shirt. Upon researching the return address listed on the package, I found it is a vacant lot being sold on Zillow, realtor.com, etc.

Appears to be an Amazon brushing scam. On 3/23/24 Amazon delivered a package I did not order along with two legitimate packages. The package I did not order contained 12-7.2 oz. pkgs. of Betty Crocker frosting mix fluffy white. Tracking #TBA312218519018. I have reported to Amazon & FTC. Thank you.

I received an unordered, random package from P.O. 208014, Cape Point, Bahai, Gambia today. All that is inside is a white cloth, almost like a thick fabric(ish) paper towel.

There is no business name or phone number attached and it is addressed to my name.

Received two separate boxes of Hills Science Diet dog food. First box received around Dec. 19, 2023. Second was received Dec. 27th, 2023. They are different kinds of dog food. Reported to Amazon. No order history for these packages and no one I have reached out to sent these packages to our house. We do not have a dog. I threw away the first box, but the second box has UPS tracking number ** *** *** ** **** **** and was sent from 21000 E 13th Ave., Aurora, CO.

Received a random package in the mail. When I opened it there was what appears to be a diamond ring in a red box. There is a note with a QR code and explanation of the quality of diamonds.

Today (October 30, 2023), I received a small black package shipped through the US Postal Service. The return address indicates the package was shipped from Franklin Park, IL, but the tracking information says it was first accepted at USPS Origin Facility

October 29, 2023, at 12:07 am. I did not order anything and have not opened the package, but it makes a rattling sound consistent with puzzle pieces or other similarly small, lightweight objects. I am marking it return to sender.

I was sent a product, likely for a brushing scheme, entirely free. I do not know why I was sent the puzzle of my name, it is not a common first name so it’s likely bespoke, but I did not want it or request it. It was sent to my college address which I have no idea how they gathered.

Random boxes of food products came too my home 4 days in a row. I called the company s and I was told no charge was applied to my bank account at this time. I believe this scam has been called a " brushing scam". The company told me the person name and the last 4 digits of the card used.
