I've been privileged to work for my parents, but I want to get more experience in the field I got my degree so when I got an offer from BRITCO for a marketing position I was thrilled. Unfortunately due to my lack of experience, I missed the red flags of the hiring process. After, I experienced every other week of work without getting paid and then my boss came up with an excuse as to why she shouldn't pay me I was informed by my parent's that that was illegal. It turned into this whole argument with my boss to give me what I was due or else I would report her. After, gaslighting me and playing victim she coughed it up but the other issue is that I also requested the paperwork I signed at the beginning. They said that they lost it and were also confused as to why it mattered. Now that I have had all of this explained to me I know why it matters now so IDK how an employer didn't know. Save yourself the trouble. I also thought it was weird how all the other employees I saw were also college students.
