This business claimed to file my FinCen BOIR for free and then one year later they charged me $349 for “account maintenance” that I never authorized. I had to log in to their website and attempt to cancel this “service”. Their website says that they made a change to their terms on Feb 14, 2025 but I was never informed of this change or I would have canceled immediately. I will be working with my bank to attempt to deny this transaction.

BOIR filing is required by small business owners. The www.BOIR.com website claims to be government agency for BOIR filing which I know now is free. This website charged me $349 when it said it was charging $149 on 12/27/24 and then charged me another $149 on 2/13/25. They are a scam company that mimics the actual website for BOIR filings so they look the same.

- Londonderry, NH, USA

They took $150 twice out of our account. When clicking on website it is undeliverable.

- Cumming, GA, USA

I was scammed by a website called BOIR.com, which created a fake government-looking site. They charged me for a BOIR report, which is actually free to file. The website's design and presentation misled me into believing it was an official government site, resulting in an unnecessary payment for a service that should have been free.

- San Francisco, CA, USA

Purposefully deceptive website (mimicking .gov site) that charges $349.99 to file BOI reports, which is free via gov website.

- Black River Falls, WI, USA

I was fooled to think this was an official government website for filing a Beneficial Ownership Information Report. Instead it was designed to look like a government site, but they charged $349 to file a report that should have been free.

Went on google and put in BOI. It was the first one that came up. I filled out information providing my business information and personal info along with the bank info. When I tried to reach out to the website, they put off my request someone to contact they first sent an email saying they would get back to me. I then went on their site and tried to stop or update information and it would not let me. I then emailed again letting them know that I made a mistake and think I filled out something incorrectly and to not take money out of my account (after learning from a friend that it is supposed to be free). They then quickly pulled the money, and I had to report to my bank.

The website www.Boir.com pretends to be an official government website (https://boiefiling.fincen.gov/) for filing the mandatory but free-to-file form for Limited liability companies. They collected personal information and then attempted to charge me $349.00, and I received a fraud alert from my bank. If you type in Boir in any search, this scam website is the top search result.

- Charleston, SC, USA

The website BOIR.com poses as an actual government website for filing BOIR claims. In fact, it is a copied version. Filing a BOIR claim with the US government, however, is FREE. This site charges $349.

They also take your identification and checking account number. As soon as I realized that there are no fees associated with a BOIR I reached out to the website repeatedly to attempt to get my money back.

I got no response, and they proceeded to take the money from my checking account.

- Dripping Springs, TX, USA

The site is made to look like the official government site for filing BOIR report. There is a credit card that is required, but it does not clearly state why/ what charges will be made.

- Columbus, OH, USA

EIN, personal info, business info

- Tallahassee, FL, USA

Sent email, directed to official looking website, registered three florida based companies. The lack of information disseminated from the federal government for BOI fillings makes business owners highly susceptible to these scanners

- Los Angeles, CA, USA

This is a 3rd Party website assisting businesses in filing their Beneficial Ownership Information Report with FinCEN. While their website states that they are not affiliated with the US Government, the highly excessive fee ($345.00) that they charge is not disclosed until after corporate identification (EIN) and personal identification (passport) information is input and uploaded. At 4.5 hours after their filing submission, no confirmation of filing was received from FinCEN and no receipt for ACH payment of fees was received from BOIR.com. We requested that BOIR.com cease filing efforts at that point and informed them that an ACH stop payment was in place. We subsequently accessed the FinCEN.gov website, filed the report at no cost, and received confirmation of successful filing within 15 minutes after submission.

- Great Bend, KS, USA

I purchased a service from this company to file my BOR with the federal goverment. The cost was to be 50.00. They removed from my bank 349.00. I have since found out this company is a scam

- Villa Park, IL, USA

I was trying to file BOIR report for my LLC, i thought this is the legit government website and i realized i have been scammed

- Saint Louis, MO, USA

This site boir.com is misleading and makes you think they are the official boi filing site. It makes you add your id and pay before taking you to a page that looks exactly like the boir.gov page. They are making you fill out the forms the government site has and make you pay $249.00 ( or more) for something that's free to file.
