My husband and I placed an ad in Angi, which is a site used to advertise work someone would want done around their home. A man by the name of Daniel called shortly after and scheduled a time for his worker, Xavier to meet us at our cabin. My husband drove the hour to meet him and he never showed. My husband reached out to Xavier, he quickly apologized and said he would give a discount on the estimate for his need to reschedule. Xavier never rescheduled. Instead, he asked that my husband take pictures and give a description of the work we want done. Site unseen, he sent an estimate for $11,000, which appeared reasonable compared to the other estimates we had received. They were very insistent that we sign the agreement to use their company (blue sky builders) and wanted to make financial arrangements right away. I contacted Danielle and informed him that I was not comfortable with an estimate when nobody had seen our site or discussed our needs in person. I asked for their website link twice because I wasn’t able to find them on my own. Danielle agreed that he would send it, but he never did. Xavier showed up to our cabin the next day, not dressed appropriately for the weather, and appeared to be selling himself and “blowing a lot of smoke.” He sent a second estimate and when we received it a few hours later, the estimate was over $45,000!! Daniel never did send us a link to his company and I haven’t been able to verify anything about their company. Be aware everybody!
