BigWig Bengals Reports & Reviews (3)

As I was researching the purchase of a Bengal kitten, I found the web site for "Bigwig Bengals" on July 12th. I provided them my name, address, and phone number using a form on their web site, given above. They texted me the following day and informed me they had a Bengal kitten available for sale. They had e-mailed me a contract for the purchase of an F4 Bengal kitten at a sales price of $550. The contract stipulated details regarding the health and care of the kitten, its age, and even its name, Baola. Their texts that day urged me to sign the contract and send them $550 to initiate the transaction. My further pursuit of the sale that same day revealed there would be an additional cost of $210 to cover shipping.

When I requested a current photo of the kitten and/or its litter (in order to prove the legitimacy of the deal in light of the escalated cost), they accused me of not being a legitimate buyer and refused to proceed. They became defensive and asked for personal information not relevant to the sale of a pet (my age, occupation, marital status, etc.). Simply put, they “wigged out” with a string of offensive texts. This strange behavior by Bigwig led me to discover a recent ScamPulse.com claim against them. There is an open involving Bigwig Bengals filed last week (BBB scam dated 7/7/18 - zip code 84653). That complaint is identical to my situation: An individual was taken for $550 in a scam based on the sale of a Bengal kitten. The victim was promised a kitten for $550 just as we were which he wired to them. Bigwig then failed to send the cat, blaming unexpected shipping and insurance costs that would escalate the cost of the sale up to $980, an obvious attempt to scam more money in the deal. That victim has refused to send more money to Bigwig and has demanded a refund. Bigwig has thus far refused to refund any money. This report is provided to expose the fraudulent behavior and potentially criminal actions of Bigwig Bengals.

I had been researching bengal breeders. This website called bigwigbengals.com came up and I saw that they had free shipping and the kittens were $550.00 dollars. Which is a great deal for a Bengal. They had pictures of the kittens and pictures of the new litter that would be available in August. It had testimonials, contact information. They even wrote up a contract for me to sign. So I thought that they seemed legit. I emailed him and gave him my address and phone number. He then communicated through texting. I sent a wire of $550.00 from Walmart to Walmart. He said that he would arrange the flight plans. The next morning I had an email from some shipping company that I had never heard of. It was called alpha pets relocator. They then proceeded to tell me that they had my kitten but he was on hold because of some new law that says any kitten under 20 lbs has to be insured. Costing a grand total of $980.00 that would be refunded once I got the kitten. That is when I really knew that I was being scammed. I text the guy and confronted him. He denied it and said that this was a new law and that he did not know about it. I said that I did not have the money and I wanted a refund. He then said that he would pay half the insurance fee. I told him again that I wanted a refund like they guaranteed on their webpage. I said that I was going to the police if I didn't get a refund. That was the last I heard from him. I am now in the hole $550.00 and I don't even have my silver bengal kitten that I have been wanting for several years but couldn't afford. I hope that this will help so that nobody else will have to go through this.
