I found this company on the Internet while I was searching for surveys to apply for. They sent me a check in the amount $1874.00 with instruction on what to do with it. I was to cash the check, buy WalMart gift cards, take pictures of the gift cards with the back scratched off.

I CALLED THE BANK TO SEE WHO THE CHECK BELONG TO AND WAS TOLD THIS IS CHECK IS NO GOOD. I HAD KNOW INTENTION OF PUTTING IT IN MY BANK AND SENDING ANYONE 1500.00 DOLLARS THESE PEOPLE MUST THINK EVERYONE IS STUPID. REMEMBER THE OLD SONG WHAT KIND OF FOOL DO YOU THINK I AM

they just kept texting me and wondering when I was going to get it done and sent to them but me coming on here and checking them out and hearing your buddies reviews is what help me figure out that they definitely were not legit.

I received a letter exactly like the one shown, but the check was from Bank of Oklahoma. I contacted that bank to see if it was a real check and the account number was real and then I asked about the dollar amount being available. It was a YES to both questions. I deposited the check, but I will Not spend any of the money or withdraw any either.
The thing that had me wondering was the fact that I had done some work as a Mystery Shopper for a company called "BEST MARK". I even went to their website and then the one setup by BEST MARKET MARK. They are set up identically! So it does throw you for a loop. Usually whenever there is a job to be done the company does NOT pay you up front...they expect us to pay and then turn in our reports before we get paid for the job and reimbursed for any expenses. So, I did NOT buy the 3 gift cards as instructed. I tried to call the phone number on that letter...but it was not in service! I also looked at the TEXT ONLY number that supposedly belonged to "David Clinton: and it did not match the text number when I was sent a text prior to getting the check. When attempting actually call either of those numbers the outgoing message simply states that the person has not set up their voice message yet. I have received (6) IX text messages asking me if I have completed my assignment yet. I tried responding by text to whomever it was sending it (after the 5th text) asking if they even knew who they were texting and stating I have not received any UPS packages...which was true at that time. I will contact my bank and see what's going on. Meanwhile I strongly urge anyone that gets these checks and letters to NOT buy any gift cards or try to cash out the check. IN fact if you do deposit I t by accident like I did then make sure to NOT use any of that money and contact your bank as soon as you can. I have attached a copy of that letter and the check too. Stay alert!

Lmao because I too just received this fake "survey" & check in the mail today...I laughed very hard after reading the paper of "instructions" which may have been typed by a 6th grader? Im sorry but, scammers are becoming dumber & dumber every year, Efiing [censored]! Why not use the knowledge you half way have to get a job or own a REAL business!

Thank you all so much, I received the same fraudulent information in the mail on yesterday it was looking very authentic but with an air of fakness about it, when you see this kind of stuff it is all very tempting but learn to listen to your inner voice, mine was saying," why are they willing to pay you so much money at one time just to buy gift cards that were so expensive, and why would they have to deposit the money in the bank later, if they were a legimate company and this is what they do on a regular basis they should already have the money. So I decided to check out the reviews and I'm glad I did. I have done small assignments with Bestmark.com (please don't get the name wrong) but they have always paid me what they promised.

Scam keeps texting me. I never applied for any marketing job and I know this is a scam. Now they're threatening to send FBI to my house. I'm not falling for it.

I've received several of these kinds of checks in the past . My first action was calling the bank to verify the account which was non existing. But none of those had a way of contact except by text. I'm glad someone started this scam site.

I applied for several jobs online and post my resume to many job sites. I got a text saying my resume was review and if I were interested in a secret shopper job and provided a link to apply.

The next thing I knew I received a cashier’s check and a secret shopper assignment.

The assignment was to buy 3 $500 gift cards. Take picture of front. And back with the scratch off code revealed and email the images.

This scammer asks you to sign up to be a retail store customer experience reviewer for pay. They send you a fake, but very real looking check, asking you to deposit it, and use the money to buy gift Best Buy gift cards at one of three stores - to review the experience and send them pictures of the front and back of each of the activated gift cards (they want them in $500 increments). The check, while initially accepted by the bank, is fake, so the deposit is reversed, leaving you out the money. And they use the pictures of the gift cards to spend the money online, leaving you at a total loss. Zero replies to the email. Thankfully I knew this was a scam, but sharing so others aren't caught off guard.
