Type of a scam Online Purchase

I am an eBay seller and this person contacted me through eBay saying that he was interested in my $25000 product and said to message him through his phone number or call him. So I called him but he didn’t answer thane minutes later he sent me a message saying “hello?” I responded to him saying that I was the seller of the product he was interested in and then he went on said that he wants to purchase my item for his wife who lives in California but is afraid that it might be a scam. I assured him it wasn’t and then he proceeded to ask me what email was and my PayPal I gave him email and name then he said that he had sent the money already. I checked my PayPal and nothing was there then I got an email from “Paypal” which later I found out wasn’t actually PayPal saying that in order for me to get payed I needed to ship the product first and email the tracking number to this suppose PayPal. So I sent them the tracking number and then ended up receiving an email saying that I would get my money in 24hrs. Then 24hrs later I received an email from “PayPal” saying that they couldn’t pay me as my account has a limit and that in order to expand that limit the “buyer” had to pay $500 more and then that I would have to refund him the $500 back. So I did exactly that and ended up not get getting payed instead I got another email from “PayPal” asking me for more money and that’s when I finally caught on to what had happened. In conclusion my product was stolen and my $500 were too.
