I was searching for a job. I came across the ad for veterans to work from home remotely doing medical billing. I was contacted recruiter via email for a job interview on Hangouts chat site. The interview was done verbally on the hangouts website no video. She stated that that this is an official interview and asked the typical questions. The advised that i had the job and a trainer would be contacting me shortly also on Hangouts only verbally. I was told they would be sending me checks to purchase from a vendor office equipment and i would start training as soon as i got the equipment. They sent me checks via FedEx and i deposited them. I then sent money to the vendor for the equipment. I received 4 checks. The bank accepted the first one, put a hold on the second and forth one and accepted the third check. I sent money to the vendor to ship all equipment at once. I have now learned that this is the 1 of the main scams being used. They are using a real company fictitiously and sent applications and human resources forms to fill out and return.
