I'm in my '80s. I got a call form Derrick Jones with "Spectrum" saying he would cut our bill in half. I asked for our account nubmer, and he said he was in sales, only biling had the account number. He emailed me an invoice, but my computer warned me not to download or open the attachment as it may be a scam. He told me to go to Target and buy a gift card. He told me I would have to do it before the holidays or miss out. I said I don't want to go to Target, so he told me to go to Krogers. Because he had my address he knew it was close. He told me to call him with the security number from the back of the cards. I asked about my services and how to lower them. He did not know anything about that. His area code was NC. He told me to buy the gift cards, and let him track me. He told me not ot tell the clerk why I was buying the cards. When my husband told me to hang up, he said I would be charged a disconnect fee, and not have Spectrum for two weeks. He was upset about me hanging up on him.
