This company sent me a certificate of status request form in the mail which included a fee of $87.25 to get a certificate (paper copy) for my newly acquired LLC. I thankfully called the Secretary of State to ask a question and they told me that this company was not affiliated with the Secretary of State and that this certificate is not needed for my LLC. Basically it’s a scam.

They sent me a certificate of status request form and me being new to all this thought it was something that I needed to apply for because the form had my document number which I verified on my certificate from the state.
