A man called my cell phone to verify that a check that I wrote to a family member for $500 was “legit”. He had an accent and English appeared to be his second language. He asked me to verify my name and zip code that’s listed on the check, which I thought was strange. My family member banks with Chase and initially deposited the check through mobile deposit. The check cleared so I thought it was strange that Chase would call after the fact to verify the check’s legitimacy. The whole thing seemed fishy. However my family member did ultimately receive the funds but still something seems off with the whole situation.

I received a voice msg from 888-373-1969 claiming to be Chase Fraud prevention. This made sense because i was on the phone with chase at the time the message came in. I was in the process of closing accounts and transferring money to a different account. I could see why that might be flagged as fraud.

Anyway I called back at the number provided 877-361-8086 (Not the number they called from) which only had offers for things I could buy.

On November 27th, 2024, a female imposter (not a digital voice) called stating she was with Chase Bank Fraud Prevention Department. She asked me to call back at a different number: 877-691-8086. I do not have an account with Chase Bank, so it was obvious to me that it was a scam. I am reporting to you ScamPulse.com and also have reported this to Wisconsin DATCP as well.

I received a voicemail from a Middle Eastern man claiming he had to speak with me about “an inquiry made on my account.” But upon looking up the phone number I found the number had been reported multiple times.
