Report

A call was received on cell phone from Mercury Law Group and she stated that the local hospital was suing us for a past due hospital bill and that Lauren Reynolds of the Judicial Services of NC would be contacted to issue the official notice to appear in court. She had the full name, last 4 of SS number and the current mailing address, which made us believe possible as the date was reflected for the debt was 2012. She stated that if it went to court, the fees would far exceed the amount owed and that it could be paid and dismissed. We paid and received a statement listing them as Mercury Financial Group at 866-790-0194 stating that the account was now considered settled in full. The receipt for the debit of funds was thru [email protected]. After checking these "company" on the internet, it was discovered as a scam .
