Received a voicemail claiming Aetna needed to speak to me about my prescription benefits. It was an automated message and asked for me to call them at a number. I googled the number to be sure it was associated with Aetna, and found it was not.

I received three phone calls in a very short period. The automated voice stated they were from Aetna and in order to verify my identity, they had me enter my date of birth. The message continued to ask me questions about taking my prescriptions and if I intend to renew my prescription. I stated "no" and the prompt asked me why I wasn't going to renew. I thought this was a very invasive question so I hung up and called Aetna to have my number taken off of the call list. Aetna stated they did not contact me and my number was already marked for no calls. The representative instructed me to block the number.

I've received a call from this number, 844-206-6178, a few times, and each time a voicemail is left claiming to be Aetna and an issue is ongoing with prescription. I called Aetna directly and they confirmed that there has been no outbound call to me regarding prescriptions, either for me or my SO.

I never answer calls I don't recognize the number. But, outside of blocking the number, not much that can be done.

Left a voicemail about AENTA insurance and to callback with my 10 digit phone number. Verizon showed this number as potential scam, so let it go to voicemail. They did have my first name and phone number, so thought it was semi legit, but AENTA never reaches out to me via phone, mostly mail notices or occasional emails, so this was a bit more suspicious than normal.

Received telephone message on my answering machine on 6/6/2023. The voice msg asked me to call AETNA at 844-206-9178 regarding my prescription coverage. Msg said to use my 10 digit telephone number as my verification code when prompted. I have AETNA medical insurance, but I do not have prescription coverage with AETNA so I was alerted. When I contacted AETNA using the telephone number on the back of my insurance card. The representative (Ariel) confirmed AETNA did not call and I do not have prescription coverage with them. It is common knowledge that state of Illinois retirees have AETNA insurance so I hope others that may be targeted realize AETNA is for medical only and do not call the scammer back.
