First call came to my home number, which I have never shared with anyone. Second number to my cell and third number to my mom’s cell for me. They had my first and last name and voicemail mentioned my county and regarding a complaint filed and that I had been notified. I blocked my number and called the 866 number left in voicemail, even though the scam number that called me was a local area code tat ID’d as a scam. Someone answered, with “how can I help you”. No greeting, no business name and he did not give his name.
I told him that I had received a call and he asked me did I receive a file number. I gave him the file number and he told me it was traced to my first and my last name he explained that he needed to verify my information and gave me my birth month and birthday and asked me to verify my birth year. I told him that I didn’t feel comfortable giving my birth year because I didn’t know if this was a scam or not. He immediately stated that my attorney can call him back or I can wait for the paperwork to come in the mail. I told him OK and hung up the phone.
