I emailed Microsoft Windows for help with computer problems. My computer is too old to get help from Microsoft. A few days later a man called and said that he worked for a company that took care of Windows problems when the computer was too old to get help from Microsoft. I had been fighting my computer for months with problems and I was vulnerable because my son had just died, and I wanted to be able to use my computer in peace. This guy said his name was James Williams and I let him install Team Viewer and work on my computer. The price for various stages of help kept going up until I had paid $430 with my credit card. This all started in the fall of 2014, and today was my last call to him for help. Support Phone # was 1-800-986-6856, email: [email protected]. I knew today it is a scam, but now worry about my bank account, as I pay bills via email to the bank. I hate to say I will write off the money but now I know I am a fool who got scammed and have no chance to get money back. I have called bank and they say not to worry as the bank has foolproof internet protection, but I do not know what else I should do. I have called credit card co. and changed my account # and changed my password at my bank. He also installed "Super AntiSpyware Professional" on my computer, as well as Kaspersky protection. He said my MalwareBytes protection was not the right version for my computer and installed another MWB. I am going to remove these 3 programs and start over, as I think he may have taken off my effective programs and installed defection ones.

Consumer called to report receiving vm from 800-986-6856. When he called that number, they claimed they were from Windows and that there was something wrong with his computer. He declined assistance as he hadn't used his computer in 5-6 months and called us for info.
