Scammer texted me from a 315 area code (from New York) stating his name is Kevin Swacks and that my Resume was viewed through the CalJOBs.gov website. That my skills matched a remote job and If interested in the job details, reply to the text. After replying to the text I was asked for my email address which I provided and thought it was strange as it was posted on my Resume. Through email, they provided the job duties and responsibilities and ended with a link to the company's official website. When trying to search the company the website doesn't show up unless I click on the link. After emailing back that interested in the job I was scheduled a last minute Microsoft Teams meeting and to asked for I to sent the invitation to him. I provided all information and I started the meeting at the time scheduled but he did not attend. After reaching out to him through the text, he asked me to text him through Teams to connect. Once he became available he said that the interview will be through chat. I was asked a question regarding who is my financial institute and to provide 2 professional references, which I did. I asked what is the following steps and was instructed to follow up the following day at a certain time through Teams. I did follow up however at this time I already did research and knew it was a scam because I called the number and the caller had an accident and provided a different name.
