After purchasing a computer printer from a viable company, the instruction booklet had the web address: 123.hp.com to connect the printer to my computer. A chat window opened up and I was told to give my phone number so a technician could assist me. It was not an employee of HP, it was a scammer from Sapphire Softech Solutions. They said I needed to have their help to rid my computer of spam, broken registries, malware. I paid $200 for this service thinking it was needed to complete the set-up from HP. They also wanted an additional $150-$250 for additional assistance for the next 1-3 years. I declined the additional expenses after much discussion that it could be found at another website for a much lower price. The "technician" was very pushy trying to increase the sale. It was only after the purchase that I found on the HP website that it is a scam and the HP company does not know how this happens. It is what happens when the consumer goes to the website printed in the instruction manual!

I was having trouble installing my printer and an error message popped up and Cindy a Customer service agent asked if i would like to speak with a technician to help me. Someone posing as a Microsoft tech named Steven Johns @ extension 1011 contacted me. I shared my screen and he showed me what was supposed to be serval corrupted files blocking the installation. The cleaning up of my computer would take up to 90mins to repair. I didn't the time so I said I would call back the next day.

Fred called me from 315-971-4229 said I had foreign people attacking my computer so he would have to clear that up before helping me install my printer. He ran some programs and was operating my computer. He said I had no security and said I should have five years for $300. He hung up and said he would work on my computer. Later he called me back and I said I didn’t want that service. He said he spent an hour with me and he was fixing the problem. I said no. (He also checked my on line shopping at Walmart and Amazon and he checked my email trying a purchase that didn’t go through. ). I said I didn’t have the $300 and hung up.

Now when I turn my computer on it says unauthorized access, no network and to call 1-315-535-6167. It will then shut down in two minutes and it does that over and over. I have unplugged my computer and I am writing to you.

On 11-7-2023- I contacted a phone number provided from HP website for support of HP printer set up. HP technician 'Austin Blake' did a remote computer assist and said my network was infected. He then entered a request for someone to call me and help clean the network infection - I pushed back, but he assured me it was a Cisco company and the were the only ones who could fix this issue. 'Ricky Sharma' and 'Meeth' called me from 877-658-2847 from Cissols, LLC and spent over an hour working on my computer via the same remote connection - never disconnected from the first HP call. I was very reticent to log into my emails looking for the cause of the infected files, but he assured he could not see my passwords I was typing. Final cost was $368 including a $59 charge for WPS (Windows Protection Shield). He said they did not accept any financial information such as credit cards, etc, but would take PayPal. So he had me log in to PayPal (again I was very reluctant to do so - he assured me again he could not see my password). The payment went to 'Trinnie Romero'. I have since changed my PayPal password. I called the number again to ask why it went to Trinnie Romero rather than his company Cissols, and he said it was probably the person that handles their accounting; a red flag. 11/8/23 I called HP to determine if 'Austin Blake' was legit - they had no record of my contact with HP tech support.; another red flag. I reintegrated that the call for support number was posted on their website as described in all of their set up information. This 'Kate Millers' said I need to call the company Cissols, LLC back to verify the validity of this - they could not help me. - I pointed out that all of this was prompted and carried out by a support call to HP and if it was not legitimate, I would think HP would want to know! I later called Cisco to see if they were familiar with this group that are' Cisco certified'. They were not helpful. They asked for an employed ID number. which was not given at the time of the service. I went online to research Cisscos. LLc and saw the ScamPulse.com fraud info, which brings me to you. This may be legit, but since I was giving access to my computer via remote access, and cannot verify anything beyond my calling 877-658-2847 and getting the same people each time who try to reassure me they are legitimate, I do have concerns. (They did get my printer set up)
