Facebook Marketplace seller pushed transaction off platform
He asked for Venmo, then an email to confirm Venmo. He texted saying the payment went through on his end but nothing was showing up on my end confirming he had paid.
He then directed me to an "agent" and about halfway through that process I hung up. He then texted me again, was persistent that I call a specific agent.
I told him to send me a picture of a confirmed transaction on his end. He would not. I called him directly at this point instead of texting. He would not give me his name and again told me I had to go through an agent. He hung up on me.
I called him back and told him back, insisted he identify himself. He again would not, and at that point I told him this is a scam and that I would be contacting authorities.
