Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order

Received an email from a guy named Williams Morgan claiming to be part of Disability Resource and Educational Services (DRES) and helping our children with disabilities abroad. As I have done something like this before, the cause is very near and dear to my heart. I was emotionally attached and I applied as I also understood the hassles of administrative work when operating in different time zones. Next thing I know he sent me a check via email and instructed me to printout by buying printable checks. Then I was immediately contacted via text message and he claimed to need iTunes gift card for apps to help children with disabilities. In total I bought 9 iTunes cards for $100 each. I then received a call from my bank the next day stating that the checks were counterfeit. Upon working with Apple, I found out that 4 was not redeemed yet while 5 was.
