Whatnot.com is a website/application, where sellers purchase pallets of discounted goods with the intent to sell at a lower rate and make a small profit. The website has a guarantee that they do not have sellers that sell counterfeit goods because it’s against the law and if I was to receive counterfeit merchandise I’d be refunded, this has happened to me several times and I brought it to the attention of the merchant they refused to refund my money although I showed proof of the fake merchandise. I lost $200. I would advise anyone purchasing to be very cautious there are so many sellers on the site selling counterfeit items and nothing is being done about it

WN has multiple sellers in their Luxury genre that sell fakes. WN has been notified multiple times and will not permanently ban the sellers choosing money over customer confidence. In addition, they have sellers in other categories who take advantage of their customers selling $5 to $10 items telling the buyer it is worth hundreds. The customer gets scammed and has no recourse because the auctions are often 5 second sudden death and the buyer can only take the sellers word at face value. WN continues to ignore sellers who allow gambling type games which are prohibited by law and their own terms of service without taking significant actions. WN is fully aware of all these things and continues to turn a blind eye because the offenders are usually their top sellers, thus more income for WN. It should be illegal to allow scammers that they continually say are private contractors to scam on their platform. They will only take permanent actions IF the issue becomes national news, ex. Blake's Breaks and Luxcellent. On Blake's Breaks, the owner was a personal friend of Craig (person in charge of Pokemon category) to continue to scam people with his knowledge. Craig has not been fired and has moved up in the company which doesn't make sense. Lastly, not all those affected by Blake's Breaks have been made whole on his $10M+ scam. Many are still owed money that WN refuses to return. Thank you for your time with this complaint.

I bought a pair of sneakers that were BRAND NEW as advertised by the seller. When I received the item, they smelled like a pack of cigarettes and also had ink stamped on the front of the toe. I tried to do a dispute with the website that hosts the auctions to let them know that I received an item that was not as described. They asked me to send photos via email and also asked me to ship the sneakers to them to verify my claim. After receiving them, they said that they are shipping them back to me and not refunding my money. False advertising is FRAUD, I feel i have been scammed and taken advantage of and anyone who runs a proper and decent business would have smelled those shoes and saw the ink and apologized for the condition that they were in. This is fraud and no one is helping me.

Whatnot is controlling their giveaways. They are deciding who wins and who doesn’t. They are allowing you to think you have a chance to win but they can decide to shadow ban you.
