My husband and I attempted to pay an electronic toll incurred while driving through Massachusetts via the Pay By Plate MA website. We were re-directed to a page to use our previous login information, which we entered. After doing so, the website stated we had joined something called Vodboxx. This fraudulent company then confirmed our bank account by using my husband's debit card information (which we never entered! only entered username and password to pay by plate) to have the bank make a small deposit and withdrawal. Then he was charged 49.99 for a membership to this site. A few days later, we received an email that he had joined a site called power4fitlife.com and that if we didn't cancel (by calling an international number) that his card would be charged 29.99 for a membership fee. He immediately went to the bank and closed his debit card and obtained a new one. We also changed any passwords associated with that account. We were thankful the bank recognized this as fraudulent. I notified Pay By Plate MA that their website had potentially been hacked. Thank you.
