I did not sign up for anything with this company. They took 30 dollars from my account in July 2024 and have since attempted to pull 30 dollars from my account 51 more times as of November 1, 2024

This all started with a job application from LinkedIn. I was applying to a job I found online through the specific company's "apply Now" page. One of the requirements of the application was running a credit check through the company of their choosing: View Free Score.com. You had to click to the 3rd party site, enter your personal information, and it would run a credit/background check and send a copy of the results to the hiring company to be attached to your application. This wasn't a step that can be skipped (I tried), and in order to complete this step and return to the application, you had to pay a one-time $1.00 charge to be immediately refunded when returning to the application. I had no choice and entered my debit card. Multiple times while entering my information, they kept asking if I wanted to further create an account with them to have all of my information monitored monthly (exactly like Lifelock), to which I consistantly checked NO and double checked constantly to make sure my checkmark didn't switch to Yes. Eventually I returned and submitted my application to the company. I checked my checking account regularly, the $1 charge never dropped off and I didn't get a refund. At that point I didn't feel it was worth tracking down customer service agents and wait on hold just to request a $1 refund and let it slide... that's where the problems actually started!

Turns out, that's where the scam actually starts. It doesn't matter what box you checkmark-ed when entering your information. The computer "auto-generates" an account for you regardless. And it doesn't sign you up for a basic subscription, but a premium one that you did not ever consent to. The 1-866 phone number is ridiculous. Any given time you call, you can listen to hold music 30 minutes or longer to speak to an agent. My first attempt at talking to someone, they told me they could not issue me a refund because it wasn't "fraud" since according to their "computers" I agreed to open an account - that was false and I called the agent out on lie. My refund request was sent to a finance dept manager for further review to see if a refund could be approved. Never heard back from anyone again. 2 months and several phone calls later I finally get through to another agent, furious that this has wasted 3 months of my time and again demanded a refund with a threat of a lawsuit at all the fraudulence that has taken place on my account. I was approved for a refund but they charged my debit card for a membership at the same time so it becomes a wash in their account. 3 months ago when this started I googled the company and found a forum where they had done this scam to 40 other people (link provided: https://freescore.pissedconsumer.com/review.html?starRating=1#reviews ). Every time I spoke with an agent proving they had committed fraud to others besides me, it didn't seem to carry a lot of weight or threat to them. It was shrugged off as lying.

I came across this company/website service by being automatically redirected to it via a loan site (I can't remember which loan site). After signing up to this website to receive my "free credit score" & credit monitoring free trial, ever since I registered to this website's services I have been experiencing multiple issues with my phone, accounts (banking, social media, hotel loyalty, shopping, EBT food stamp card, etc) & especially my Google accounts emails have been compromised; as I have currently now been locked out of one of my main Google accounts awaiting a 72 hour "review period" to "verify if the account really belongs to me". I feel very scared & nervous anxious with the overwhelming feeling of exposure.

False information presented, tells you it needs your information to get a loan then charges your account repeatedly.
