This took place on Sept 20, 2024. The website was listed on Google as vehiclehistory.com. Clicked on the link and was directed to vinhistoryusa.com. Subscribed to 7-day trial to get a free VIN report which was $1.00. The website stated that after 7 days I would be charged $30 monthly unless I canceled within that time. I paid via PayPal. I received the report via text from 202-751-4073 with a link to vinhistoryusa.com The report contained very little information. I grew suspicious and searched Google with their website address and saw scam reports listed on Trustpilot. I tried to cancel the trial by calling the number, pressed the option to cancel, and was disconnected. In a minute, I received a text from Global Informatics LLC with a subscription cancellation confirmation (no confirmation number) as well as an email from [email protected]. Note: Gmail alerted that the message might be highly suspicious or spam. I then contacted PayPal and disputed the charge. After speaking with customer service, I received an email message that listed that the autopay was canceled which had yet another merchant name, telephone number, and web address: CarInfoStory.com!
