Someone from the company Valance/Valence called my mother on her personal cell phone looking for me. They said they were looking for me because I had inquired about their HR platform a year or two ago. If I did that a year or two ago, it would have been using my work email and work phone number; I do NOT use my personal phone number for work purposes. Even if I did, this means they looked up family members to hunt down a lead. This is inappropriate, invasive, and predatory.
