I was supposed to get hired for a new job from [email protected]. They sent me a text message about an interview and proceeded to talk through Google Chat. They said I got the Finance Receivable Clerk position and were going to send me a check. The check came in on 10/31 of $9,850. They told me I needed to spend $1500 in Visa gift cards, $1500 through Venmo, and $5700 for Bitcoin on Robinhood. The next day they sent me another check of $10,000. This one didn't go through and my bank restricted my account. I then found out that I had lost all of the money that I spent from the day before and had a negative amount in my account. I yelled at them for an hour and told me to give me back my money and they said the only way was to give them my credit card information. I told them no and I'm not working for them anymore. The whole thing felt legit because they also sent me an offer letter and I did send them my driver's license. I feel like an [censored].
