I replied to a Facebook post on Pitbull Puppies in Need of New Homes, about a pitbull dog located in Arthur, IL by David Miller, breeder, certificate # 33-A-0607, customer #460. When talking with his wife, Avyanna Hooper Katniss, via messenger, she stated the total price for the dog was $450 including shipping from IL to West Palm Beach, FL. Once I paid that amount, I started receiving emails from Swift Courier Services, that extra payments were due...$250 for a shipping crate, $50 for labeling fee, $760 for insurance policy while the dog was traveling, all of which was refundable when the dog was delivered to me in West Palm Beach. I paid all of this and then some because some payments didn't go through, so they said. When I thought the dog was finally going to ship, I'm hit with another email stating it was from the USDA in Illinois, there was a $1240 fee for permits and licenses to be paid, again, all of which is refundable. I said absolutely not, I had no more money and I'm still waiting for a refund. Swift Courier keeps saying the will refund all shipping fees, including the $450 I paid for the "supposed" dog. In the meantime, I discovered the breeder's wife stole pictures of a pitbull dog from Instagram trying to pawn it off as the dog they were selling me. I informed both the breeder and Swift Courier I've filed a complaint with the USDA in Illinois, the state attorney's office and the police department in Arthur, IL. I was strung along until Friday, November 29th. On top of the nightmare they put me through for a week, I lost my mother on November 24th! I contacted Swift yesterday, and was told to call 309-704-0140 for my refund. When I spoke with "John", he said there was a $850 fee. I said I'm not paying one more cent!
