I am concerned that I am being scammed by a Computer tec company. In Jan. 2021 I paid them $1249.00 to protect my computers for a lifetime. Then yesterday they tell me that I have to upgrade to advanced support, for an added $1946.00. I am on an fixed income and am feeling leary of what they are telling me. Can you help.

- Perry, MI, USA

I contacted the website for computer malware cleanup services they offered. My price was $180.00 paid by visa card. Over the course of a year I used the service once, the initial set-up only. I had no contact with the service after the one session. Then I get a phone call that I can recover my money if I follow their instructions. They had me go to my computer and follow a-long. They gained access to the unit and eventually showed me that they had installed $2000.00 into my checking account. Then I was instructed to give them my cell phone no. so they could track me as I went to a Wal-Mart store, purchase two gift cards for $1800.00 and then give them the I.d. numbers off the cards scratchoff bar on the backs of each card so they could recover their $1800. This I refused to do. I was then threatened with computer hijacking which they accomplished. I have since checked with my bank and found all was well, cancelled the Visa card and reported the incident to them. Now I'm in the process of recovering my computer. If it can be recovered!
