Letter that is from a company called STP. It targets people that are filing trademarks. They have nothing to do with the official trademark office. They are asking for money to put your trademark in their database. This will do nothing to protect your trademark.

The letter in the mail received from STP Registry (stp-registry.com) looks like an invoice needing to be paid. It says, 'Trademark Publication' at the top right corner with Reference Numbers, Application Date, Application Number, Class, and US Class numbers. It says that our company's trademark requires a 'Publication Fee' of 1460.00 with 0.00 for 'Additional Tax.' It continues with, 'Please pay the amount, on acceptance within 10 days by check. Please don't forget to quote the reference number . . . ' On the bottom left of the invoice, it indicates where to send the check payment and on the bottom right corner, in small font detail, it states that the notice is not an invoice, but that 'This is an offer for entry into our database www.stp-registry.com'.
