Type of a scam: Home Improvement

Stellar home repairs was called to clean my chimney. They then got my elderly parents to apply for a credit line for over $7000 for some repair that was unnecessary and illogical. They came by on 3/5/22, claimed they would start work on Tuesday 3/8/22. They then called stating that they were unable to get materials needed for repairs until Thursday and can't use boiler or heat until they fixed it. I looked over contract and realized that Wednesday 3/9/22. I had my mom sign, cancel contract and emailed them immediately. I called multiple numbers and no response. I left a message and no one replied. I decided to text and send cancelled contract effectively since tonight 3/9/22 at midnight was the deadline to cancel contract without penalty. I found it fishy that they called me back once I sent the contract cancelled but did not respond to any other calls placed to them earlier.
