She knew I was a licensed real estate agent in Florida and indicated that she was calling on behalf of the DBPR, which is our licensing authority in the state. She was offering me the same benefits they offer police, first responders, and others.

When she started asking me, "Oh, I see you're in Fort Myers. How long have you lived there?" I said, "Where? Who are you calling from?" She told me, and I immediately searched it because I was sitting at the computer. The first thing that came up was that it's a fraudulent entity used in phone scams that targets licensed professionals to steal sensitive personal and financial information.

Here I am to share my experience. Probably within seconds after that, I hung up on her!

Received a call from 814 610 8496 stating that they were from "State License Benefits Association" and that they were calling to inform me of benefits that Athletic Trainers are now eligible for which were previously only available to police, firefighters, and other first responders. The background was busy, so it seemed likely to be a scam. Also looking up their name immediately showed "scam"

Pretended to be a company selling benefits for state-licensed professionals. Said benefits were previously only offered for first responders and now available to all state-licensed professionals. Said they work with State License Benefits Association. The area code is NE (531) and the name will say Public Service. I just confirmed information about myself that is available on the DHHS licensure verification website. They did ask for height/weight and approx monthly income and how much I save per month. I did not provide any further information. They asked me to do a screen leap share so I could see his screen. I was able to see him and his computer screen. The call was going on for a half hour and I finally told the person, no I am not interested and promptly hung up and stopped the Screen Leap.

They pretended to be selling death and disability benefits for nurses. They say they work with State License Benefits Association. The area code is NE and the name will say Public Service. I did give my email but when it came to my SSN, I would not give it over the phone. They said it's only to be HIPPA compliant to get my medical records. I again said I would wait for their email. They said they could not send an email without the SSN to finish my application. I told them I would do some research on them and call them back. She said "that's not how it works ma'am, maybe we can call you another time". As she was hanging up I heard her say "I couldn't do it, no, I couldn't do it" obviously to someone else.
