Gross Overcharge/Scam

My 82 yr old mother locked out of house from garage door when I was out of town. Neighbor called locksmiths and this locksmith said he was close and can be there in 15 min. He charged her $360.00 for less than a minute to open with a tool. She paid and he did not give her any type of invoice showing the service description, cost or payment. No business card or anything. His white van just had black block lettering "LOCKSMITH". Hard to wait for credit card statement to see Name SQ*LOCKSMITH Creve Coeur. Can't find company to call to dispute.

I locked myself out of my running car one evening after work. I googled "locksmith" and called the first # that came up. They told me on the phone they charged $54. for the call, and then additional depending on what had to be done. After waiting about 1 hour (they said they would be there in 15-20 min) the came & told me they would charge $350 (PLUS THE ORIGINAL $54) to open my car. Thinking this figure was WAY out of line, but not knowing what the going rate was (and I was tired, it was during an ice storm, etc.) I agreed. I found out the next day that other locksmiths provide the same service for $75.00 INCLUDING the call). Since I agreed to pay the $404 (they actually charged me $406) I paid since I like to be a person of my word. But others should be warned. They are called SQ Locksmiths and their phone # is 773-437-6672/ Now, when I try to google them, they name doesn't come up. Curious?
