I recently applied for Social Security. While on vacation, I received a letter asking about a recent Social Security Administration transaction and providing a number to call, prompt one to ask for Rubeye, then prompt two entering an extension number to ensure my call is routed correctly. It mentioned that if they did not hear from me in 10 days, they will not take any steps to process the transaction. Obviously fake inquiry, no letterhead from Social Security and emblem. Just wanting to notify others.
