I received a professional looking mailer (the ones with the security tear off tabs to open) claiming to be from Sikorsky Credit Union claiming to have been attempting to contact me regarding a matter of importance. Please call 1-800-516-1090.

At first glance, it looks legit.

It references a recent HELOC and knows my loan amount.

Signed “The Servicing Center”.

But, I put it aside and next day I had a feeling I should Google the phone number before calling, and sure enough, others had reported this phone number as phishing.

Glad I trusted my gut!
