I was a patient at Sentara Obici Hospital in Suffolk, Virginia. I was staying in the SSU floor. My cell phone was low on battery so I informed a family member if my phone died to call the hospital room phone which oddly enough I found unplugged and I didn’t know why until I plugged it in. Within five minutes the phone rang and it was a scam call. I hung up on them. They called back within 10 minutes. They were using AI for scam phone calls. The staff are very much aware of this even defensive about it.
