I made one purchase from their website, and they auto enrolled me in membership for $29.99 a month without my knowledge. Even after I “cancelled” the membership they still continued to charge me.

- Fresno, CA, USA • Aug 20, 2026

My elderly parents made a single online purchase through selectbasics.com and did NOT consent to any ongoing membership, trial, or recurring fees. Despite this, the company has been charging their credit card every month without authorization. As an elderly couple, they are not familiar with these types of predatory online billing practices and would have continued to be charged indefinitely if I had not intervened to review their financial statements. These unauthorized, deceptive monthly charges are clearly designed to exploit vulnerable consumers who are unaware of the hidden subscription terms. I am filing this report to stop these unauthorized charges and prevent this company from exploiting other elderly individuals.

They tie you into a membership without being upfront about it. I cannot get in contact with anyone via phone. In order to cancel the membership, you have to send an email. I fear they will charge my account again next month.

They enrolled me into a vip membership I didn't ask for or agree to. 29.99 every 28 days. Can't get them to stop charging me this fake membership fee.
