I was called on June 30th, 2021 regarding a job interview for a receptionist job. The woman on the phone asked me questions regarding the job description and if I was capable of doing them and assured me the job would pay $19/hr but a certification class for fire safety and security costing $166 would have to be paid from my own money. I scheduled the interview for Friday at 10:30 am and was asked to come in proper attire. When I arrived at the Brooklyn address given above there were multiple applicants there as well. When it was finally my turn to speak with the hiring manager, he barely asked me any questions and essentially just hired me on the spot. However, they were ambiguous about me being secured the job, because it was apparently a first round of interview and they are just consulting who connect applicants to front desk jobs. I was then asked to get $166 in cash for the certification class and told to come back next week to pay an additional $150 for the "consultation". All I received was a receipt and told that the $166 was non-refundable. After the interview, I felt incredibly worried about what had just happened and called the number that initially called me and was assured I would be secured a $19/hr front desk job in manhattan and would be emailed the details for the certification class within 72 hours. I have not received any email or call from them and do not plan on going back to pay any more money.

I was called for an interview today and they told me the same thing it was a women who called me and said I would take a 2 day class for my security liecense and i would be doing front desk In a Manhattan building your experience was extremely helpful I'm having 2nd guess now
