Beware of verbal offers!

Yesterday I shared the same experience as the above reviewer (Katrina Jones). Same front door presentation, offering "today only" half price offer with work to begin on Monday (next business day). He had no business card, no business ID, no business vehicle in sight; just a laminated card with the business name and pictures of bugs etc. He said he has been working with neighbors and had a couple of open slots available to round out his day. The price would be approximately half the website pricing...which doesn't exist. No thanks!

There was a man (displaying no ID or door-to-door sales license, required in our area) going door-to-door trying to sell pest control services under the business name of Seaport Pest Solutions. He claimed it is ScamPulse.com rated and insured. The ScamPulse.com shows the business as not accredited and with an A- rating. The business' website shows it as A+ rating with no mention of insurance (or a license). He also claimed to be giving big discounts on services since he is giving a group discount based upon sales with neighbors. He had no documentation or written materials for me to review except for a laminated card with pictures of pests. It was obvious he wanted to make a sale only based upon a verbal discussion. He did show me a company website on a tablet but stated that the prices on the website would be discounted by approximately 50% with his offered discount. (I later checked the website and could not find any prices.) After I told him that I would not agree to anything without documentation or a contract, he stated he would leave and give my discount to someone else. I don't know whether his business is legitimate or not, but wanted to forewarn others of his tactics.
