Letter stated that Payne Richards & Associates is a professional asset recovery firm specializing in locating rightful owners of unclaimed funds and assisting with the claims process. Claim ID: 12916040, Amount: $1,020.12. Enclosed was a payment agreement for an Investigator's fee of $102.01 payable only upon receipt of the funds/value totaling approximately $1,020.12 from the agency holding this money.

I received a letter via mail on April 13th, 2026, re: claim notification from Payne Richards & Associates, 3801 Pegasus Dr., Suite 101, Bakersfield, CA 93308. It has an additional address of 7138 Mapleridge, Houston TX, and phone numbers 512-649-4019 between the hours of 8-4:30 PST. The area code, first off, is from Austin and they are on CST, not PST. Reporting party is Burlington Northern Inc., and I have never had any ties to this entity.
