A dog flipping business in Cayuga is operating under the disguise of a dog rescue. The man that owns it is Shawn Bacher. He claims he is a not for profit organization, he was for a month, until it was dissolved by the board for unethical practices and care for the dogs. He is claiming that he has his kennel license, Haldimand county has confirmed he does not. He is currently being investigated by SPCA as well as I and another person have made several complaints about dogs being kept in his care. He is operating under the disguise of being a rescue in order to get dog food donations, monetary donations, resources (cleaning supplies, daily operating supplies), and volunteer time and expenses incurred that’s associated with that time. He sells dogs at a profit to himself, and does not claim any of it as income, which he lives off of. I along with many other people have been duped into believing that he’s rescuing dogs, when in fact he’s benefiting from it financially and uses the resources provided by volunteers simply because they want to help the animals.

In addition, he poses a public health concern as he openly says that his “rescue” is clear of any parasites, however multiple dogs that were adopted tested positive for Giardia, a zootonic parasite transferable to humans.
