I recently saw the going out of business post from Maple Boutique and the prices of the shoes seemed like good value for what appeared to be good quality. The boots were described as ‘pebble leather’ and premium leather, it claimed to be a Canadian company and the story of going out of business due to retirement was compelling. I ordered four pairs of shoes , spending over $200 and what I received was shocking! If I had paid an unreduced price for the items it would have claimed a value of $909.80 according to the prices displayed on the website. In reality the shoes were NOT leather but some kind of plastic. They came in ziplock bags just like the bags that come from TEMU and of the same quality. Although they claim to offer an unconditional return , Unlike TEMU returns are not free and when I took my packages to Canada Post ( they came in two bags) the cost of mailing to the Chinese address I was given for returns, for each package was just over $84 and that did not provide tracking! Since the net refund would end up being only $40, and that is IF the package arrived without tracking to prove it was sent. I can’t take a chance and spend additional funds in trying to return this garbage. I accepted their offer of a 30% refund in which they told me to keep the items and dispose of them as I wished, however, this is a small comfort since I have still lost $165. I feel like a fool and hope others can learn from my experience! ????
