So either onlinemenunow.com sold my email address to an unscrupulous source(s), or hackers stole it from their database, or entities at onlinemenunow.com are directly performing the phishing attacks.
You also need to register your phone number with them, which now gives them your name, phone number, address, payment info, etc. If they sold or leaked my email address, I can bet they are responsible for a large amount of spam phone calls and texts and likely fraudulent charges to my credit card.
Based on my experience and the other info reported here, I would avoid using this service. Call in your order if this is the only online method for ordering from a restaurant.
Today, within a 60-second timeframe, I received an alert from my email app that a user overseas was attempting to access my account (to which I denied access and immediately changed my credentials), and moments later I received a call from +0000000000. From previous experience in my field of work (IT), this number is almost always spoofed when we receive incoming Chinese spam calls.
Looked into the website itself hosting these services and found that it provides very little information, grammar and syntax is "off," it was established in early 2019, almost exclusively hosts Asian restaurants, and their physical servers are apparently located in the middle of a lake in Kansas -- sure, Jan, seems legit!
Their website includes minimal information about their business, an incomplete address (26 allen...and that's it), and an overseas phone number for contact (which I'm not even sure is legitimate -- not going to be the one to test it and find out).
I am not sure if this kind of reporting will lead to any action, or if this site is even violating any rules/laws (or if it's even actually within the jurisdiction of US law), but I did feel the need to report this source before it corrals the information of too many unsuspecting individuals. Fortunately, due to my professional background, I was able to notice all of the red flags, but I cannot say everyone else will react in the same manner.
This "business" needs to be looked into.
