Individuals called by names of Nancy Watson and Paul Johnson both with Indian accents. Claiming to be loan officers from onemain financial. We did give some personal info including social security and one bank account number. It became apparent that it was a scam when asked to provide payment up front and meet at a wallgreens to complete transaction.

Filled out info from a email half way through I didn’t finish it and two days later “one main “ called me and asked if I needed a loan and I responded yes. He asked several questions much like any other time I would be applying for a credit card. He said I was approved in minutes then said I had to get insurance from AIG. I had to go to Walgreens and get a non refundable google play card for 200. He stayed on the phone the whole time . Then he said the money could go directly on a credit card I already had. Then he said the state would not release the money unless I paid the tax .... at this point I was completely knowing something was not right. He said he called the state ( heard him dial ) someone said he was from the state office. I knew it was not , knowing well a few things . Asked for ID number then said could I call him back. Responded that I couldn’t call direct he would have to do a third party call . I then told them it was total scam they insisted not gave me fictitious numbers. I went crazy at the end of phone call telling him it was a total scam he told me to go to the police ( I did not ) mean while they have a lot of my personal information. I am out the 200. Dollars . It’s not refundable. I want to find out how or to who they applied it to . Don’t know how much more I can do. But definitely wanted to start here. I want to put it everywhere. But I am just spending this to you in hopes that it saves someone else from doing the same thing .

Type of a scam Debt Collections

Keeps calling claiming to be One Main and attempting to collect a debt, but I haven't ever used their services. I searched the number and found multiple similar complaints. The phone number does not match One Main Financial.
